The Grand Canyon

For my 30th birthday, I was taken to the Grand Canyon. I'd never seen it before. I was nervous about aging. 30 is a big step for someone to take. It means so many things. Do you have your head on straight? Do you have a plan? No?! TOO BAD! You're 30! Well...When I saw this ancient place in its vastness and magnitude, it really put my life into perspective. It helped me realize just how relative time is to everything in the universe. I am a creature so 30 years to me is a great deal of time but to this gaping ocean of space 30 years is a drop in the bucket. Also, it made me anxious every time I looked at it; despite that, I hung my feet over the side.
Arcosanti
Arcosanti is by far one of my most favorite spots on planet Earth. I've spent plenty of time here. It is beautiful and inexpensive. The art and architecture alone are amazing but there's also a full kitchen, a community with the warmest hearts you'll find anywhere and a desert landscape that would inspire a pleasant perspective in even the most stubborn of curmudgeons.
